Vampire Teeth

Daniel loved the idea of Ethan's vampire teeth at Halloween, however, he did have a bit of trouble fitting them all in his mouth! His tongue kept sticking out at funny angles and over and under the teeth. I was laughing so hard I could hardly take the pictures. Daniel was cracking up too. We had a lot of fun...

Nineteen Months

Daniel at 19 months

Nineteen months is not all that different from 18 except that Daniel has at least 50 new words. He is amazing! He's still wild and sweet and he runs around like crazy, but boy can that chid talk!!!

Eighteen Months

I cannot believe that Daniel is a year and a half old! He's so sweet! His favorite words right now are, "I do it." "Shoe." "No, no, no, no, nonono!" "DaDA!" and "Dawg."

Daniel talks a lot right now, unfortunately, it is very difficult to comprehend what he means. He points and babbles very prolifically! He loves to climb up in your lap and cuddle, he dances like a groove monkey, he's wild and crazy (wonder which one of us he got that from?!!), and he is the most lovable, sweet, independent, stubborn, opinionated, and adorable child!

We are blessed to have this little boy child-gift from God! (Thank YOU GOD!)

Seventeen Months

Daniel has finally mastered, "No!" For the longest time he said, "Doh!" and shook his head no, but he could not say the word properly. Well, now he can. "No, no, NO!" That's what you hear, not all the time, but when he says it he MEANS it! He is talking all the time now and even though we do not understand about half of what he says, he is very expressive and finds himself very funny, very serious, and he's very, very, loud!

Daniel loves the outdoors. He wants to be outside all the time. He loves dirt and grass and rain. He even likes getting squirted with the water hose!

Fifteen Months Old

Fifteen Months Old

Daniel is walking almost exclusively now. He walks very well in his shoes, to the amazement of watchers, but he walks even better barefoot. He still crawls when he really wants to go fast.

Daniel talks and babbles a lot more now! He says hi, hey, and bye bye (and waves), but his most often said words are "uh oh". He says it all the time (mostly appropriately) and adds consonants to it for fun like, "duh doh"!

Daniel is almost weaned. I am happy about that, but still a bit sad too! Sometimes he leans against my breast as he sits beside me and drinks from his sippy cup. I can tell he's getting the same kind of comfort that breastfeeding afforded him.

He's growing up before my eyes!

I'm Gonna Get You!

I will get you! (Through the glass door!)

I went outside to photograph Ethan's Snowman and Daniel stood at the front door and screeched for me to come back! He really wanted to get out while I was trying to take his picture through the glass!

Fourteen Months

Fourteen Months

Daniel is so fun! The other night Walter and I looked in on him and he was suckling one binky while holding another as close to his mouth as he could!

Tonight we danced all crazy-like in the living room and he LOVED it. It was the first time he could really participate on his own volition. He could do his own thing because he can walk now!

Daniel talks like a pro these days too. He says, "Oboyaboyaboya da mmm yep!" He says, "Ma" for MORE and, "No, NO, NOOOO!" to the dog when she has been crated for some bad deed.

After putting on any shoe(s) he could find around the house and trying to walk in it/them, we got him a pair of sneakers and he really likes them. They (and Emma) have really helped/inspired him to walk a lot more in a really short time period! I think the talking has changed too because of Emma.

Fat Lip and All

Daniel can walk. Since I started keeping Emma, who is almost three, he has begun to babble in "wordy" sentences that become paragraphs and he takes five, six, seven... steps at a time. Tonight he fell in the kitchen; he hit his upper lip first. It puffed up and it was bleeding and though he cried for a bit, he was not afraid to take off again!

When he gets sleepy he gets wild, he screams and lunges instead of stepping, he shakes his head and smacks his hair. He loves to do all of that. If he ends up in my lap, he kisses and pats me - it's dangerous love because he can be aggressive and hurts me sometimes!

I sure do love that joyous, delightful, wild little boy, fat lip and all!

"Thank you!"

Daniel has new words! He says "Thank you!" We have been reorganizing Ethan's room and in the process we sorted all of the legos into several containers. Walter and I were sorting different kinds of legos and if I found one of his, I would give it to him and he would say, "Thank you." - and vice versa.

Soooo, now Daniel pulls all of the magazines off the shelf, hands one to me and says, "Thank you." He dumps all of the train tracks on the floor, hands some to me or Ethan and says, "Thank you." Etc., etc., etc.

It's so fun to see him learn new words, new concepts! It's even fun when I have to clean up all of the messes he might make in the progress!

I love being a Mom!

Thirteen Months Old

Daniel is really blossoming. He says two and three word sentences. At Ethan's Birthday Party, Grandma coughed and Daniel leaned over to look into her face and said, "You alright?"

While eating pizza I was working on teaching him to say "pizza" and he said, "Bite za, Dada." Daddy wasn't there, and I think he not only wanted Daddy, but wanted to share his pizza with Daddy.

I think he is saying "I love you" too, but it's hard to tell. It really sounds like it. It is amazing how he learns so much so quickly!!

I am blessed to be able to see him learn, to teach him, and to watch his development so closely. I have a wonderful husband who forced (not really) me to stay home with Daniel!! Thank you, baby!

First Haircut!

Daniel had his very first real haircut on Tuesday, December 28th, 2004. We went to Family Barber and Daniel sat in Mommy's lap while the lady cut his hair. He wasn't too enthused about the process at first, but liked looking in the mirror at what was going on. He got his very first sucker right after the haircut and really, really enjoyed that!
